About Donna

The machines used to do exactly what we told them.

My first programs were written in assembler, one instruction at a time. The computer did what I said and nothing more. If it was wrong, it was because I was wrong.

Today’s AI works the other way. It fills the gaps. When it cannot find a clear fact about a business, it makes a guess or names someone else. I have spent more than 30 years watching how computers find and sort information, and I have studied search patents since 2006. That is why this matters so much to me.

Good businesses deserve to be seen as they really are. I founded Protected by ALFIE in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, to help them give AI true, current facts it can check. On stage, I show audiences how it works and what they can do about it.

No jargon. A hotel owner and a data scientist can sit side by side and both follow along.
